Taught by Tommy and LaRiche
Building on improvisation and character-building skills, students will be (virtually!) transported around the world and face different scenarios as both themselves and created characters. With a mix of collaborative games, discussions, and mini-performances, this class will create its own world amidst all the traveling. Students will leave this class with a greater understanding of how they and others may react to certain circumstances and how to navigate the world with a little humor and out-of-the-box thinking. This class will surely be one that has students asking “where in the world are we, and what do we do now?”
Taught by Tera and Sam
This class is for actors to create introductions to the songs/shows we do in the future. Each week, we will discuss a Detour show and articulate why that show matters to us. Each week, we’ll consider: what the show is about (theme), who we resonate with (characters/relationships), what the show can teach us (message), and why we love the show!
This class is also a good opportunity for actors who want to work on researching a show for program notes (they will have the chance to present and get feedback on their research).

**This class is limited in size. The maximum number of students allowed is 12.**
This course is about working together. We will develop everything as a group including jokes, sketches, the guidelines of our club--we will even decide how we decide things together!
This class will build on the skills taught in Sketch Comedy. If you have taken that class, you have a firm idea of the kind of work we will do. If you want to break out of your shell, be bold, and fill an hour of your day with laughter, then this is the club for you!
Taught by Andrea and Simon
