Detour Company Theatre is committed to the health and safety of our community and the world at large. We recognize that we are a diverse group of people, some with high-risk health concerns and varying housing situations. Although we fully acknowledge the current social and political challenges around the ongoing pandemic, DCT will err on the side of caution to protect everyone as best we can. As we come together, we are committed to protecting ourselves and each other as we work to maintain a community that is healthy, respectful of each other and enjoying what we do best: creating authentic theatre, together.
It is expected that all individuals on church grounds wear a facial covering at all times. DCT is committed to reminding everyone that these coverings must be worn over the mouth and nose. Those who repeatedly and intentionally fail to comply will be asked to be picked up immediately and will be instructed to wait outside. Coaches (when deemed necessary for accessibility) and directors are required to wear an accessible, see-through mask. DCT will provide the first see-through mask. If this mask is damaged or lost, individuals are responsible for acquiring an additional see-through mask. DCT will provide disposable masks for individuals on an as-needed basis.
DCT will strive to maintain appropriate social-distancing (6ft) and, to the best of our ability, avoid all physical contact. Please note that blocking for the stage may sometimes hinder this endeavor.
Parents, caregivers, and staff will be asked to wait outside of the rehearsal spaces.
DCT will abide by St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church standards that designate the maximum number of individuals in a room.
DCT will abide by Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts COVID-19 Response guidelines.
Sanitation stations will be available at the entrance of each rehearsal space. Individuals will be required to properly sanitize before entering and engaging in rehearsal. There will be a designated person to oversee that this process is completed.
Screening and Temperature Checks
DCT will conduct a temperature check on all individuals, prior to entering the rehearsal space. We will be checking to ensure that each individual’s temperature is below the CDC recommended guideline of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit. If an individual’s temperature meets that guideline, they will be asked to be picked up and will be required to wait outside. DCT strongly encourages individuals to review the following CDC recommended checklist prior to attending any activities. Individuals are required to stay home if you have any of the following:
If anyone tests positive or comes in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, DCT must be notified immediately by contacting the Artistic Director, LaRiche Lamar at (601) 324-4281. This individual will be asked to refrain from attending DCT rehearsals and activities for a minimum of two weeks. DCT will conduct an internal contact tracing investigation to ensure that all individuals who may be impacted are informed about the next steps that will include (but are not limited to) self-quarantine, cessation of all activities with DCT for 14-days, and a negative COVID-19 test.
If anyone exhibits symptoms related to COVID-19 while attending a DCT activity, they will be asked to be picked up immediately and will be instructed to wait outside until they leave for the health and safety of those in attendance.
